Martin Luther kink Jr. Park has had several renovations completed to the facilities starting in 1996 with a renovation for the overall park, continuing with a new playground in an un-used parcel fronting on Southard Street, followed by a complete rebuilding of the North Trenton Little League ball-field, a complete re-building of the pool and pool-house complex in 2003 and a re-paving and restoration of the basketball court in 2009.

The park also contains a t-ball field and a small picnic grove adjacent to the playground. A large mural honoring Dr. King is painted on a wall along on edge of the park.
