Location: Laurel Aveenue/Laurel Place Approximate Size: 0.66 acres Facilities: After over two decades of neglect, Laurel Ave. Park was little more than derelict lawn and an asphalt patch left from a previous basketball court. After several meetings held with the neighbors surrounding the park, it was determined that the design should focus on the playground and smaller lawn areas for children to play. Parking for the tightly spaced row-homes surrounding the park as well as park visitors was also included in the renovation design. This park now provides a generous playground, a lawn area large enough for unstructured play and plenty of seating. The extensive landscaping and ornamental lighting add to the parks charm and help to define the parks active and passive recreational spaces. Randall R. Baum, Landscape Architect
